Godrej Properties was established in 1990 as the real estate development arm of the Godrej Group, a conglomerate founded in 1897 by Ardeshir Godrej. Beyond its founding market of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, the company has built out a presence across Pune, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata, the National Capital Region, Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Kochi, Mangaluru, and Goa. Company disclosures indicate roughly 41 million square feet delivered since FY18 against a saleable area base of around 215 million square feet under development or in the pipeline.

Godrej Properties operates as part of the listed Godrej Industries Group following a 2024 family business realignment, remaining under the stewardship of the Godrej family that has guided the parent group since 1897.
